Holiday Lights in the City - Bentonville, Arkansas
Lisa’s Point of View had the opportunity to visit the stunning holiday lights on the Downtown Bentonville Square in Bentonville, Arkansas on my recent visit. Bentonville is always a “must visit” for me whenever I travel back to my home state of NW Arkansas. It was a special treat to be there during this holiday season and have the opportunity to walk around the Square on a beautiful crisp December evening.
As I strolled all around the Square, it was so special to see people of all ages out walking around enjoying the lights and taking family photos. The pure joy on the young children’s faces looking at all the lights was priceless. What is wonderful about the Bentonville Square is there are so many places to dine on the blocks around the Square so families can make it a wonderful evening of dinner and enjoy the holiday lights. There is also an outdoor ice skating rink over on Lawrence Plaza. For those interested in Art & Sculptures, you can walk over to the 21C Museum Hotel and take in the beautiful art and sculptures throughout the hotel.
Visitors can make it a full afternoon/evening excursion and choose to come earlier in the day and visit the Walmart Museum on the Square, the Bentonville Visitors Center, enjoy an early dinner then enjoy the holiday light display. Bentonville is known as the birthplace of the retail giant, Walmart. Sam Walton’s original Five & Dime store is located on the Square.
There are so many dining options and shops along the Square and the blocks surrounding the Square. A few of my favorites are: 211 Cafe is my go to for the most amazing cup of fresh Guatamalan coffee. Ozark Mountain Bagel is a must visit for delicious New York Style bagels/bagel sandwiches and more. Their Jalapeno Bagel is my favorite along with their Razorback BLT Sandwich. KYYA Chocolate is a chocolate lovers heaven. I enjoy Tavola Trattoria for their amazing crab arancini trio (stuffed blue crab risotto balls). I had my first visit to Table Mesa Bistro known for it’s Latin inspired cuisine. Their veggie tacos served with quinoa are scrumptious. Top off your evening for cocktails and/or dinner at The Hive in 21C Museum Hotel. If ordering from the bar menu, I highly recommend The Hive Burger made with pimento cheese!
