Lisa’s Point of View had a 4th of July Birthday Staycation at Hilton Norfolk THE MAIN in downtown Norfolk, Virginia!. I have frequented the hotel’s various restaurants over the years. This was my first opportunity to stay overnight at THE MAIN. My girlfriend and I had a beautiful room overlooking the Elizabeth River.

The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Norfolk just one block south from the Elizabeth River. The Battleship Wisconsin & Nauticus Maritime Museum is 1 block to the east. In addition to the 3 restaurants on site, there are a vast number of restaurants and museums all within walking distance. The hotel has a coffee/juice bar on the ground floor and an indoor pool on the 5th floor. There are also options to rent scooters and e-bikes to use downtown from various vendors.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch at Grain , dining outside on the patio of the roof top beer garden on the 5th floor. I highly recommend their other dining options including Saltine, a seafood restaurant on the ground floor and Varia, and Italian restaurant, on the 2nd floor. .

We decided to stay in and watch the fireworks from our river view room which was a picture perfect way to enjoy the evening. .

I thoroughly loved observing all the beautiful art and sculptures throughout the hotel. The floor to ceiling windows on the north side of the hotel adds a distinct ambiance bringing in natural light and gives the hotel a sleek modern airy feel.
