Savory Party Appetizer - Fresh Fruit Salsa Over Warm Brie
Lisa’s Point of View is blogging all things fresh fruit salsa and party appetizers. Warm melted brie topped with a fresh fruit salsa is a simple and easy appetizers that your guests will fall in love with. My friend, Liz, gave me the idea for this appetizer when she used my fresh strawberry salsa over warm melted brie. I experimented with other fresh fruit salsas including fresh peach salsa, fresh mango salsa and a mango pomegranate pico de gallo. They all were simply delectable over a hot melted brie.
I enjoy serving cinnamon pita chips with this appetizer. The unique cinnamon flavor and the sweetness of the fruits, blended with the tomatoes and other flavors of the salsa and the smooth creamy brie is such an interesting blend of flavors and textures. I recommend a firm, thin crisp wafer or cracker with minimal or no additional added flavors except for sea salt. You want the focus of the flavor to be on the appetizer.
I only make fresh fruit salsas “in season” for strawberry, peach, and apple salsas. I pick them locally at orchards/farms or get them from my local farmers markets. Mango and Pineapples I can get year round; however, the mangoes varieties will change through out the year. I also recommend getting a higher quality brie for best texture and flavor when baked and melted.
With football season upon us, this will make for a perfect appetizer for your game day parties at your home. I hope you enjoy the photos of my fresh fruit salsa over warm brie from #LisasPointofView. Photos of my salsa by Tammy Venezia Photography 2016
